Dries Van Noten Announces Retirement and Successor Appointment

Belgium’s renowned fashion designer, Dries Van Noten, announced his retirement from the industry in a statement on Tuesday. At 65 years old, Van Noten revealed his intention to step down after completing his final collection, with plans to appoint a successor at a later date. While expressing his desire to explore new pursuits, he affirmed his ongoing involvement with the fashion house he holds dear.

Van Noten disclosed that the forthcoming men’s spring/summer 2025 collection would mark his last endeavor in design. He expressed confidence in his studio team to helm the creation of the fashion house’s women’s spring/summer 2025 collection.

Born in Antwerp into a lineage of tailors, Van Noten launched his menswear collection in 1986, eventually building a prestigious brand that was acquired by Spanish luxury conglomerate Puig in 2018. His global presence includes flagship stores in prime locations worldwide, and his work has been showcased in exhibitions such as the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 2014. In recognition of his contributions, he was conferred the title of Belgian noble baron in 2017.

In addition to ready-to-wear lines for both men and women, Van Noten offers a range of accessories, cosmetics, and fragrances. His recent fall/winter collection, unveiled in February, featured a palette of pastels, greys, and light browns, highlighted by coats, bomber jackets, and tailored suits adorned with intricate beadwork.
